Call for Abstracts to present at TW2023
The Thriving Women Conference Committee is inviting abstract submissions for the Thriving Women 2023 conference (TW2023) to be held at Charles Sturt University, Wagga Wagga from 13 - 15 August 2023.
In 2023, the conference theme is Growing and Inspiring Women Connected Through Agriculture, which seeks to acknowledge and foster the impact women are having on their own lives, businesses, communities and industries.
As a greater collective of us, every woman and man has the potential to impact the agricultural sector, strengthening its foundations for women.
Overview
In hosting the TW2023 conference, WoTL Ltd will bring together delegates to address the business needs, issues and opportunities for women in all agricultural pursuits and to develop strategies for building resilient communities.
The stimulating and supportive environment of Thriving Women 2023:
- builds the capacity and confidence of emerging women leaders to take on influential and decision-making roles.
- encourages the development of networks to share a common passion for primary production.
- increases awareness, understanding and opportunities of the diverse roles of women in the agricultural sector.
- fosters participation in programs and awards that recognise the contribution and potential of women.
- raises the profile of agribusiness and the contribution being made by women towards a prosperous sustainable future for agriculture in Australia.
We are excited to deliver a conference that will attract and engage women connected through agriculture from across Australia and are seeking presenters across a range of topics to fill a dynamic and engaging conference program.

Four Step Abstract Submission Plan
1. Select Your Presentation Topic
The 2023 Conference theme is Growing and Inspiring Women Connected Through Agriculture and has four key focus areas, to explore the following topics in a changing environment:
- Strong Foundations – Building confidence and capability
- Shaping the Future – Inspiring Action. Tools and mechanisms that will shape forward momentum. Striking a balance between the personal and the professional.
- Cultivating Curiosity – Sparking creativity and innovation. Exploring entrepreneurship and leadership.
- The Power of Storytelling – Hearing women’s voices and contemplating the lessons we learn from the stories of others – the triumphs, setbacks and the enduring resilience of rural women.
2. Select Your Presentation Type
The expectation of presentations is that they are largely based around “Toolbox Talks” - the idea being that whilst the audience is presented content, they are also given something to add to their “tool box” to take home and put into practice – a new skill, a plan, new information.
We imagine this could fit into one of the following format options:
- an interactive workshop – where content is presented, participants are given activities to complete, skills are learnt, and with key messages to takeaway.
- a camp fire session - traditional presentation followed by generous time where the presenter facilitates a discussion with the audience inviting comments, insights and questions from the room.
- a traditional presentation with a short Q&A session at the completion of the presentation.
- other – got a great idea for a session? – we are open to ideas – pitch us your format and content and we will consider it!
3. Prepare Your Documentation
Make sure you include:
- your name and contact details
- presentation title (15-word limit)
